Sat 5 Dec in Canberra, city of roundabouts. Without a 1000 Elephants![1] Yes, the XXXX AFP meet is happening. Here is the schedule: 7pm, Phu Pho Quoc Restaurant, Cape St Dickson: Dinner. The restaurant is BYO, and there is a bottle shop next door to it. They do a banquet for about $15, and can also cater for vegies. Directions: If you are arriving by car from anywhere except Cooma or the NSW south coast, you will arrive at the corner of Northbourne Ave & Barton Hway. (see map) Drive down Northbourne, turn left at the next set of lights (Antill St), then first right (Challis St), then first left (Cape St). I I To Sydney _________I I To Melb I * Matt's House _________ I * These 3 stars are B&B's I I * I I_*_______________________ I Antill St I I____ ___________________ I I I I I I I I_________ * Bar I Cape St Bus * I __________ Station * Restaurant The map is not to scale, and lots of streets haven't been drawn in, but it's not too hard to find. After dinner, there is a bar just up the road. Sat night: There will be some crash space available on my floor, as long as my housemates don't object very much when I ask them. I don't think they'll mind. Bring your own sleeping bag or whatever if you want to use this option. If there's not enough space, or you don't like floors, there is a whole street of Bed & Breakfasts marked on the map. There is also a YHA, caravan park, and more expensive hotels all close to Dickson. Sun: Will be worked out on Sat night. The bus station is about 1.5k down the road from the restaurant, the airport is about 10-15k away. I might be able to pick people up from either of these if they ask really nicely, and if I haven't sold my car by then. If you are coming[2] please send email to me so I know how many to book for and so I know if my floor is big enough. Matt [1] Because the ACT govt won't let any exotic animals into Canberra anymore.[3] [2] Or just breathing heavily [3] This means the only circus we get to see is the one in parliament house. -- Sigs may be hazardous to your health -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Submissions for alt.fan.pratchett.announce to: afpa-mod@lspace.org PLEASE READ http://www.lspace.org/fandom/afp/announce/guidelines.html before submitting articles to afp.announce.
