Paul became the proof of that old saying 'Fools rush in where angels fear to tread' when he naively proposed a super afp meet - only to use the word 'convention'. The result is history: the First Discworld Convention took place in Manchester in June 1996.
It is rumoured that, after a severe allergic reaction to custard, Paul is currently recovering in a closely guarded hospital near Ipswich.
