A charming adaption of Mort, made by a young playwright and radio journalist Urmas Vadi (24) who has successfully debuted with two plays in lasts seasons. Director Ain Prosa (34) has enjoyed the warmest reception of audience and also been highly appreciated by critics for his TV productions (recently a 30-part serial) and big stage productions in Estonian Drama Theatre and Rakvere Theatre. As usual, he works together with designers Kersti Varrak and Maret Kukkur. Music by Allan Vainola, singer, composer, guitarist and author of hit songs for the rockgroups Metro Luminal and Vennaskond (Brotherhood). Witty poems by Villu Kangur, journalist, translator and poet.
Estonian Drama Theatre is situated in nice art nouveau building in the very centre of Tallinn, capital of Estonia. It is a state repertoire theatre and also the biggest drama theatre of Estonia with it's troupe of 40 actors, two stages (530 and 145 seats) and more than 500 performances per season. Besides Estonian authors there are works of most interesting contemporary dramatists and world classics in the repertoire. Among the hit productions of the last season have been King Lear by Shakespeare (a lady playing the main part) and Aristocrats by Brian Friel.
Four books by Terry Pratchett are translated into Estonian: Colour of Magic, The Light Fantastic, Mort, Equal Rites. In June the translation of Sourcery will be published.
