Flamewarp

OK, I'm not usually any good at lyrics, but I think wprk must have affected my brain. Either that, or there's something about a song which some people at my Am Dram group refer to as my song.

It was more fun than working anyway 8-)

It's astounding, politeness fleeting,
Bad manners take their toll
I'll keep my temper
Not for very much longer
I'm about to lose control

I remember a friendly newsgroup
Talking of drinking and bread, and then
That all changed when somebody decided
Let's have a flamewar again
Let's have a flamewar again

It's just a shot from the left
And then a shot from the right
just ignore the facts
And close your mind up tight
It's the personal attacks
That make you look insane
Let's have a flamewar again
Let's have a flamewar again

It's so easy, making people feel queasy
and pointing out where they're braindead
When I'm lurking, and I ought to be working
Maybe there's things better left unsaid

If people are seeing red, turn it into a cheese thread
Or start geeking about PCs
What caused the frustration? Here's an explanation
Let's have a flamewar again
Let's have a flamewar again

* (chorus)*

There's religion, feminism and there's politics
And several other subjects making people sick
So take a break and have a think
Go for a walk or even have a drink
And if you post, engage your brain
Maybe then, there won't be a flame.
